Ciência noética: Utilizando-se das mais recentes inovações tecnológicas, surge como uma ramo multidisciplinar com métodos próprios e tendo como objeto de estudo as experiências humanas.
Sob a ótica puramente materialista, mecanicista nossas experiências são adquiridas no contato com o mundo físico, a partir do qual construímos nossa consciência sobre quem ou sobre o que somos. No entanto, esta percepção é produto de diversas e interconectadas sinapses neurais ocorridas em nosso cérebro, sendo, portanto, também física e com o poder de influenciar a matéria física e etérea. É sobre este resultado que se debruça a ciência noética para desvendar os segredos mais profundos da mente humana, daquilo até então considerado imaterial. Então, de um saber ao seguinte, surgem novas perguntas que demandarão mais pesquisas em busca de novas respostas. Assim é a ciência noética.
Após sua experiência única ao andar na lua, o astronauta da Apollo 14, Edgar Mitchel, sentiu-se parte integrante da harmonia cósmica o que lhe possibilitou ver uma nova dimensão do mundo em que vivemos: o universo da consciência. Engenheiro e cientista, Mitchel possui mais afinidade com o mundo racional e da precisão da física. Por esta razão, Mitchel fundou em 1973 o “Institute of Noetic Sciences”(Petaluma-Califórnia) para investigar os mistérios da mente humana.
